Audio Effects
As the mobile industry grows, consumers continue to demand higher
and higher quality audio from their mobile devices. To help meet
this demand, SONiVOX offers several Audio Enhancer software modules,
designed to enhance digital audio playback of MIDI, MP3 and other
audio streams. Modules can be licensed separately or together.
SONiVOX' audio effects algorithms
are uniquely designed for embedded systems and small footprint
consumer devices. To this end, the algorithms are highly specialized
for small memory and MIPS footprints while maintaining a high
degree of quality.
The effects module is designed
such that it can work with any audio system that accepts a standard
16 bit (or higher) audio stream as its input. This allows the
software module to sit easily on a host or DSP processor in embedded
systems.
The following effects are available:
SONiVOX Booster - The SONiVOX Booster software module
provides the ability to add variable amounts of compression and
expansion to the output audio. This is useful, for instance,
in assuring MIDI audio output such as ringtones playback at consistent
and maximized levels.
Reverberation - The SONiVOX Reverb software module allows
users to select from several room ambiances ranging from small
chambers to large halls. Input to the module can be any defined
audio stream, mono or stereo.
Chorus - The SONiVOX Chorus software module taps into
MIDI and digital audio signals to provide a wider, thicker sounding
output. The API allows for modulation of the effects for specialized
game play.
High Frequency Enhancer - The SONiVOX Enhancer software
module provides for additional high frequency presence in low
sampling rate audio solutions.
Tone Control/EQ Presets - The SONiVOX Graphic Equalizer
can be used to tailor a mix to user preferences, or for particular
listening environments and product platforms.
Resampler - The SONiVOX Resample algorithm allows digital
audio output streams to be sample-rate converted from one sampling
rate to another so that they are compatible with downstream effects,
mixing and D/A converters.
Mixer - The SONiVOX Mixer combines two or more input audio
streams into one output stream, with selectable gain for each
input stream. |
